Our Story

Mama’s Village Collective was born from experience, love, and a deep understanding of what it truly means to need a village.

As a military spouse, I welcomed my baby into the world hundreds of miles from my family, longtime friends, and any real support system. In those early postpartum days—the fourth trimester—I felt the full weight of isolation, exhaustion, and overwhelm. I longed for someone to check in, hold my baby so I could shower, help with the dishes piling up in the sink, or simply ask, “How are you doing?”

That experience lit the spark that became Mama’s Village Collective.

We exist to be the village that so many new mothers don’t have. Whether you’re a fellow military mama, a first-time mom far from home, or just navigating the raw and beautiful chaos of new motherhood, you deserve care too.

This is more than a service—it’s a movement. A movement to remind mothers that they were never meant to do this alone.

Welcome to the village. We’re so glad you’re here.

— With love,
A fellow mama who’s been there

Our Mission

At Mama’s Village Collective, our mission is to provide compassionate, hands-on support for mothers in the tender postpartum season—because no mother should feel alone in her journey.

Rooted in lived experience and the deep belief that it takes a village to raise a child (and to hold a mother), we exist to be that village. Whether you're a military mama far from home, a first-time parent navigating uncharted territory, or simply in need of extra care, we’re here to offer practical help, emotional support, and genuine connection.

We are a movement of mamas for mamas—honoring the fourth trimester, centering maternal well-being, and showing up where and when it matters most.

You were never meant to do this alone.

We’re here to walk beside you.

Our Founder

 Chelsea Baker

Hi, I’m Chelsea—founder of Mama’s Village Collective, military spouse, and mama to a spirited three-year-old daughter.

I’m originally from Ohio, but North Carolina and lived in North Carolina for six years. It was there, in a small military town, that I brought my baby girl into the world—far from family, longtime friends, and the comfort of a familiar support system.

Like so many mothers, I entered postpartum filled with love and gratitude… and also exhaustion, overwhelm, and a deep sense of isolation. I remember longing for someone—anyone—to show up. To hold the baby so I could shower. To ask how I was doing. To simply be there.

That season changed me. It opened my eyes to how much we ask of new mothers and how little support we so often receive. And it lit the fire that became Mama’s Village Collective.

I created this community to be what I needed back then—a village of care, empathy, and practical help for mothers navigating those early, tender days.

No one is meant to do this alone. And now, you don’t have to.
Welcome to the village. I’m so glad you’re here.

With love,
Chelsea
